Farewell.....well kind of!!

Featured Replies

My relationship with my £30 Skoda Felicia will come to an end this Saturday as i acquire my mothers car for nowt....too tempting.

Now i know others have went off in a huff because of a few simple faults but I covered over 40,000 miles in my Felly and despite a few component changes (shocks, thermostat etc) it never let me down once and i will be sad to see it go. :( Not bad for £30

It is being donated to a friend of the family who needs some wheels so hopefully it will charge on for a bit longer as there isn't anything wrong with it apart from the ever spreading rust!!

I will still drop in on the forums though and who knows i may get another Skoda sometime soon

dear me.

whats replacing it?

A Rover 400 1.4!!

Same year (1998) with 36,000 miles on it.... and before you all start saying about Head Gasket I had Multi Layer Steel Land Rover replacement put on due to a jammed stat blowing last head and a friend of the family not noticing quickly enough!!

I have had a few of these before and apart from the gasket issue they have no real problems in the reliability stakes.

Honda mechanics so should be reliable.

Any difference in insurance harryhill?

havnt they got the head bolts holding thwe cam bearings in so if you turn the engine over whilst head is off half bottom of the engine is likly to fall out?

Not necessarily. Depends on the year.

All the best mate, you can still pop on here when you want :)

why would you want to turn an engine over with the head off!!

There are stretch bolts that clamp the whole thing together in a sandwich to the oil rail at the bottom of the block.
