Boost Pressure Control Valve Fault????

Featured Replies

Right guys here's the story so far....

I bought an 2001 octy vrs in August this year and found a coil pack faulty so replaced the coil pack (new from ebay) and renewed the spark plugs.

Anyway the car has performed perfectly until last nite when arriving home from work the tick over was erratic (ticking over about 400rpm) then stalled so removed the engine cover and found the ebay coil pack not fully home in the engine block (also noticed this when had the cam belt done aswell). So off to Skoda and bought a new one coil pack and seemed to work, no erratic revs.

Started the car this morning and the idle was all over the place (back firing too), had the car vag-com tested and it brought up one fault:

17608 - boost pressure control valve (N249) : mechanical malfunction

P1200 - 35-00- -

Would this valve cause the problem?

Cheers for any help....

Paul.

yes it would or youve got a hole in the vaccum pipes somewhere .

it might need a new diverter valve or like i said before hole in the pipes sucking air in somewhere . i put a new diverter valve on mine and the same code keeps coming back .

mines got the same problem right now , its at a garge now getting sorted fingers cross . he has had it on the computer and he thinks theres a hole in one of my pipes somewhere , his had a look but cant see anything so his changing all my vaccum pipes to find it .
