Felicia electric windows

Featured Replies

Another dumb question- from a guy that was not just a numpty for buying a Skoda- but also prefers it to my Landrover Td5, Auto, Cruise control, A/C etc etc [and facelift]. And the LR Discovery cost 20x the Felicia!

Anyway, to the point. Control cables [push bike inner brake cables] for N/S electric windows have snapped. Looks to me they got in a tangle inside the motor winder.

Haynes- as usual- no help.

Can the cables be bought?

Or can new ones be made up?

Strikes me, that to make new ones the lenght would be critical.

Any thoughts would be welcomed.

You can buy the complete unit minus the motor from Skoda, I think the price is about £85.00 + Vat, comes with new clog, not a bad job to do. just make sure you order an electric one, never tried to make one. Don't think you buy it in pieces.

Just had the thing apart. To right it can't be repaired-only replaced.

I reckon the docking mechanism on an orbital space station would be a walk in the park compared to this lot!

You've got more guts than I do, even dismantling a regulator box if you don't know it's broken already! I've never heard of anyone successfully rebuilding one!

I would suggest a scrappy!

Give these guys a try:

car parts | used car spares | scrap yards - 1st Choice Spares

Used them a few times and they search for the parts for you and then the scrap yards give you a ring or drop you an email (usually within about 5 mins!!) and you just pick the cheapest one.

Tried this link. Looks pretty good. BUT!

I chose not to enter my mobile phone no. [and accept a £1.50 charge every 2 days], but only entered my email.

Not heard a thing.

I take this comment back. Since had loads of good sound emails- with very sensible prices
