octy rear window and bike racks

Featured Replies

am i ok clipping my bike rack under the top end of the rear window?

just swapped my ibiza roof bars for a very nice bike rack(cheeres m0rk of www.seatcupra.net)it sits quite nicely on the rear hatch without touch the rear spoiler, and the lower end sits just below the number palte area on the hatch.

there didn't seem much clearnce on the top of the glass though, would this break when i apply the bike to the eqution?just one MTB.i imagine the weight maybe transferred to the top strapsand the two padded points on the boot lid.

just wondered if anyone had had this set up on the octy without any hassles

i would weld supports onto the boot lid. :D

Jason, get some glass hatch adaptors from a retailer who sells the racks.

Do not use the rack if it has "conventional" hooks on the two top straps.

The last thing you want is for your rear glass to come away from the car and deposit your bike on the motorway at 70 MPH.

........that would be a bad day.
