Nvidia GFX Card Overclock

Featured Replies

So, how do I do it then?

I downloaded coolbits and it installed a reg file but other than that no GUI.

Its a 6800 ultra, great card in its day but I can see it struggling with cod a bit :(

Wasn't the 6800 ultra the top card, with the GT and GTS below it.

IIRC you could unlock the pipelines on the lower cards to turn them into the same number as the ultra and then clock them up.

IIRC the ultra was fairly well stretched so not sure what you'd gain.

Best bet is to make sure the fan on it is all clean and working then try bumping it up 10Mhz on the core and then back off a bit when it get funny.

Ditto on the RAM.

ATi Tool 0.27 b2 download from Guru3D.com

ATitool works really well, don't be put off by the name, probably one of the best Nvidia overclocking / tweaking tools there is.

I use Gainward Expertool - no messing about, it has 3 sliders in the performance tab and the test function works properly too. Almost stupidly easy to use, and very stable.

Riva Tuner for me!

Use to to automatically UNDER-clock the card when windows starts to save power etc then when I want I press CTRL+Home to set to default speeds and then CTRL+PG up to overclock it.

I think you can get it to do all this manually but I think I would prefer to control it all myself.

Edited as I got confused and thought I was using Ati Tool but it is in fact Riva tuner! lol

Rivatuner is the most powerful :)
