Im doing some paint correction on my mums car and decided i really did need a electric polisher. You seem to be able to get really crap polishers for £20-£30 or good ones for £150-£200 with not a massive amount inbetween.

I found this on ebay however and have bought one, id like to no what you guys and girls think?

Il let you all no when it arrives.

TOP CAR BOAT POLISHER,ELECTRIC,SANDER, BUFFER + BIG SET on eBay, also Cleaning, Waxing Valeting, Car Care, Car Accessories, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 21-Nov-08 20:51:30 GMT)

i wouldnt allow that one near my car. save up and buy a PC or just use some elbow grease.

Google doesn't seem to throw a great deal up, but i would guess (because it isn't stated) that it is a rotary polisher rather than orbital, meaning the risk of paint damage(burning) is much greater in the hands of an amateur.

It's a rotary, should be fine but if you can't stretch to a G220 look on detailing world for comments on the Kestra DAS-6 which apparently works as well as the G220 and includes spare brushes too :)

I guess it would do the job with some decent pads and polish.

And...if it all goes wrong, it aint your car :D

(not the best attitude i admit) :P

Go for it.

DW isn't returning any search results on Kestra

Have you got a link?

Edit - Found it - think you mean Kestrel DAS-6

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a rotary technically just a variable speed angle grinder, with a range of speeds to suit polishing/correction?

In which case even £65 seems a bit expensive to me.

So are you saying that angle grinding the car would be better than polishing ;) It must be a good angle grinder for that price so it should do a really good job ;)

I did indeed.

At £89.95 it's the around the price that the G220 really should be, as the G110 sells for $199.

I'm tempted to take a punt on one at some point.
