Thats the sound of my factory fit alarm every 10 mins. Soding annoying is what I call it.

Don't know whats causing it, all the doors are shut, all the windows are closed, the bonnet and boot are closed, i've sprayed all the contacts, i've even shut all the dash vents. Still the alarm goes off every 10 mins or so.

Any ideas lads.

PS It has interior sensors fitted.

Hi,

try setting the alarm with the internal sensors switched off, if it takes, and works normally that would show a fault in the internal array.

Check that the interior lights are not on.

Can't think of anything else.

Cheers.

Adrian.

I hate alarms - Never wanted a car with one for this very reason - it going off all the time. I did have an alarm on my first ZX but it was so rubbish you could leave the windows & sunroof open in a force 10 gale and it wouldn't go off! That was probably because it was French

Errr.....It's better now, umm the fault must of just switched it's self off, sorry cured it's self as if by magic. Don't know what it was, honest.

Adrian, cheers mate. ;)

We aim to please!;):D

Des,

Are you sure yours is a factory fit alarm? is it a cat 1? Scorpion used to be the accessory/dealer fit alarms.

It may have been your battery was a bit flat as you hav,nt used the car for a while whilst on your hols. Mine when the battery was on the flat side started doing all sorts of strange things with the doors locking when I started the engine.

I think it is, it came with the car. Check out the pic of the sensor below.

Doesn't really matter now problem solved. I left the passenger light on, the auto shut off must of triggered alarm and every time I re-armed it, it switched the light back on.

I have and here it is.

Yes thats the same as mine, have you got the red plug as well as the black? Your alarm may be the same one as mine, did you get instructions - if not I can copy mine I didn't originally get any but eventualy Skoda customer services got me a set.

I would be interested if the self lock still works when you unlock the car and not open a door - I though mine used to with the alarm fob but not any more - It does with the normal key fob however.

Yes I have a red plug/alarm shut off key. No I did not get instructions even after asking the dealer for them.

Don't know about the self lock thingy, I will investigate tomorrow and report.

Many thanks John, must find a way to repay you...hmmm. ;)

Yep...that's the Scorpion alarm I had fitted to my SLX TDi estate. Requires a separate key fob to arm/disarm and you can also turn off the ultrasonic sensors.

Time to come clean now Des.......reason I knew about the interior light was it happened to me. After an accident on the M4 (some MaxPowerMuppet in an 104 ran in to the back on me) the tailgate wouldn't close properly causing the rear interior light to stay on.

Cheers.

Ah the truth is coming out now and there's me thinking you're the alarm wizard, tut tut.

John

No, the doors will not self lock with the alarm fob, it does with the key fob.
