Accelerator problem

Featured Replies

Hi im new and got a problem

i asked on other forums about skoda cars and i get alot of abuse about driving a skoda so i decided to come somewhere where i could get good advice i had a skoda fabia 2000 1.4 but theres a problem, hill starts.. the car accelorator revs really highly and when you put your foot on an accelerator it holds the revs but mine even pressed gently revs high and then loses the revs so you basically need to give it a couple of high revs then take of quickly without rolling im a new driver but have drove many cars when learning and never had any problems, the car just passed its MOT so its ok that way, but why does it rev so high and then the revs drop again like ive took my foot of the accelerator when i havent

I have the sort of issue with mine. Almost stalls itself at times when only just moving on the clutch. The only way I have found to counter it so far, is to hold the RMP at 4,000. Not the best or nicest way to do it, but it works.

i dont have this problem with the 16v 1.4 on a W
