On a year 2003 Fabia 1.2 the car was running fine. Then suddenly when switched off will not re-start at all. It tries to fire up when cranking over but will not start. No fault lights on dash.

Any suggestions on what to check first? Fuel Pump? Ign?

Hows the oil level?

I could hazzard a guess the chain has slipped but could be a blown fuse to the fuel pump.

Check all fuses first, if there all fine, easyest thing is to get it plugged in and see if it throws up any fault codes, im sure there will be someone in here that will point you in the right direction for fault code readers. . .

^^^WHS Start with an ECU code scan and go from there. If no codes, pull the relays one by one and refit them.

lloks like it is a slipped chain problem..........checked some other forums (VW) and it seems to be a common problem in 02~03 VAG 1.2 engines.
