Jabbasport - good news!

Count me in for August time-ish-maybe-sooner-if-the-bonus-gets-paid-early :bttt:

No offense, but for that price why not get an Upsolute chip and a downpipe. Or an Upsolute chip and a boost controller. You'll get more power than Jabba.

Ah, ok. I fyou're worried about warranty...

I spoke with Mike yesterday and he doesn't think a remap is necessary on my RS as it stands. He thinks things are OK and spending the cash on a remap won't change things? So it looks like I'll well have to pass up the offer of a discount on a group remapping session, sorry guys.

i HAD MINE (vrs) RE MAPPED AT jABBA LAST WEEK (Don't you just hate it when you forget the caps lock is on?) and It's transformed my performance dramatically. I find that I rarely floor it anymore as it is now seriously pokey and can catch you out if you're not carefull. The power is noticeable from tickover all the way through, turning into a demon if you do floor it. The boost is now running at 1.0-1.1 bar against a standard of .6. This and the new fuel map has raised the bhp to 219 on their Dyno, it should run at about 226 on the road as it is significantly cooler for the intake sysytem than indoors. It does change its driving character, noticeably it now has quite a kick when acellerating at about half throttle and then backing off. It's when the turbo overboost drops off I think, which was at first a bit concerning but you just change your driving habits a bit to not encounter it. The great thing is that I genuinely am getting 3-4 mpg more and that's normal use (some runs and some around town). I have yet to take it on a steady (80-90) motorway run for any distance. Bear in mind that this inrease in mpg is with me playing with the new power as well! You tend to find that under normal driving circumstances you drive with less right foot as you don't need it! The whole thing took around three and a half hours for them to do, First the ECU is removed and a new (blank) chip is fitted. This is programmed via a laptop and then they must have done twenty or so Dyno runs to get it satisfactory to them. One word of caution, the place is a pain in the arse to find, though only 110 miles from me in the Midlands it took about two and a half hours each way to get there. Take something to read as well as there is nothing to see (You can't go in the workshops or Dyno bay) and nowhere to go whilst you are waiting. So would I recommend it to those of you who are unsure? Damn right I would!!

Simon.
