Strange - Heater problems

Featured Replies

Hi all, i've read a lot of problems regarding heater on Fabia I, but nothing like mine (i guess).

I usually turn the dial to maximum hot position with A/C off. If i start the fan with speed number one or two it blows hot air. If i put the fan speed dial to 3 or four the air gets warmer.

Any idea? I've just replaced the evap fan sensor.

With A/C things get worse, it's always warm/cold in hot

It could be a heater flap problem or it could be a coolant circulation problem where the coolant isn't getting pumped through the heater quick enough. A fault code read should reveal any faults with the heater flaps.

No heater flaps errors are stored in the H/AC Channel. I can also manage to reset the flaps trough VAG-Com. May be coolant circulation modification for the LPG system installation as f****d all the things? :\

I was about to suggest a blocked/dirty heater matrix, but if your cooling circuit has been modded for LPG (why?) then that could well explain it.

the cooling system is used to heat the "reducer" a small tank where the LPG expands before going to the injectors :\ . How can i check the heater matrix? Where is it?

The heater matrix is the heat exchanger buried behind the heater controls - not an easy check, but also unlikely to be blocked unless you've been running without a pollen filter. I would say the cooling system mod is more likely to be your problem. Does the LPG reducer get heated before the cabin? Could it be routed the other way round?

A pollen filter will have nothing to do with a blocked matrix, if you getting poor heating it will be blocked internally an reducing the flow. Sounds to me like the LPG might be restricting the flow to the matrix.

I would have thought that a missing pollen filter would let all the leaves and crud through to the matrix, preventing effective heat transfer.

So sounds like there's nothing to do, luckily i live in Sicily and the weather is quite good also during the winter :D. The only problem that i have is when i need to unfog the windscreen quickly :\ i have to use the A/C
