verdict on: blufin, pipercross filter, forge blow off valve

Featured Replies

fitted blufin today then a pipercross panel filter today(pain in the *** gtting the engine cover off though to fit it though)

thought the bluefin was a doddle to install, and the results are excellent, especially in 3rd and 4th, niot really pushed it past that for obvious reasons(yet!). little bit of torque steer but road was a little bit damp.Plus i spoke to the tecnicians at superchips about changing the remap to account for the air filter upgrade, but he says no need, although whenn i get my exhaust system next month they do a stage 2 remap at no extra cost-just plug it into the computer send it to them and they'll alter the remap.

piper cross air filter arrived today as well, sounds sweet from ooutside cant really notice the difference driving though, cant notice a difference in performance though since the bluefin was installed at the same time.

also i hit the jackpot at a skoda dealership today as well, went to get cruise control fitted, and they technician, sold me his forge blowoff valve for 100 queen quids:D, and fitted it it for me, and to be fair it sounds the mutts nuts now, not to loud but sweet none the less.

just waiting out for my rolling roll dyno sheet next month. looking forward to the results.

oh and the wife is not happy wwith me since joining this site-you lott have cost me some amouont of money, lol:thumbup:

On what car/engine ????

From your comments re getting the engine cover off smd the BOV I'm guessing a Octy II VRS TFSI ??

sorry bout that, yeah octy vrs 2.0tfsi, very good guess, i thought i was going to break the cover, looking into some form of increased traction. not sure wether to go for race logic version, or quaife LSD. any ideas anyone(pros and cons)

had it in enough time for a mpg check

and the results are not half bad, ive hit an average of 31mpg over 240 miles, which considering the way ive driven it since getting the remap is preety god, thats a mixture of town and autobahn miles(damn the rain and snow-still looking for the top speed run)

how much did the cruise control cost you to get fitted please.

thinking of getting it done myself

im lucky mate, im based over in germany so used a german dealership and got tax off, but i think uk dealerships are around 190-200 incl fitting, however there are a few independant companies who fit cruise control into octavias try a search on here mate

im moving back over to germany in january so ill go to the dealer then and get it done.

moving back to germnay is the way forward, no one likes a uk post. if your coming to hohne, i can get you the details for the local dealership, brilliant service and tax free is available there.

cruise control cost me 163euro fitted(tax free) but i was lucky as my octy already had the correct electrical gizmos in place so i just needed the replacement stalk and fitting.

some models dont have that and the elec box needed is a further 84 euro on top. a diagnostic check gives them that info in mins.

this'll cheer you up, 250 litres of shell 100 ron racing fuel cost me 130 euros. now if thats not reason to get posted to germany then what is, lol, and it keeps dropping
