HELP!! Sigma alarm / Skoda immobiliser? HAYWIRE!!

Featured Replies

Help..

Anyone with first hand experience of fitting / unfitting / programming Sigma Alarms??

My keyfobs (neither of them) aren't unlocking or locking the car.. the light shows the battery is fine (on the fob) and the car can be locked and unlocked with the key.

My alarm fob isn't locking or unlocking the car and the immobiliser is cutting in and stopping the car from starting. The alarm LED isn't flashing or constantly on in the car and when I press the alarm fob it just lights up all three lights on the fob (Sigma S series, does this mean a fault with the system?). With the key in the ignition, if I press the alarm fob, the LED in the car with flash (once) but it does not activate the key pad for entering the imobiliser code.

The headlights and indicators work but nothing else electrical is working at all.. not the windows (even with the key function), horn, nothing..

I suspect its a fault with the Sigma alarm and its immobilised the car as a security feature, but I can't switch the damn thing off.. * :(

I've checked all possible wires, nothing is broken / split.

Anyone got any clues?

Sorry if thats all gibebrish, I've been at since fairly early this morning..

*I'm tempted to try de-installing it all but don't want to compound the problem.. and sorry for the hideous image quality..

No experience with fitting them, but I do have a Sigma alarm in my other car.

Firstly the "three lights" on the fob - I think if you open the fob you'll find it's only one light underneath and on my fob it lights up every time you press the button and my alarm's working fine so I guess it just shows that there's battery power in the fob?

Second, what colour is the LED? - on mine it turns steady green when the immobiliser is deactivated, if it's flashing red then the car is still immobilised. Also, don't know if you're aware of this but the S30 which I've got (and presumably other models that are Thatcham compliant) re-arms itself after 30 seconds, if you haven't started the car. Quickest way to disarm in this case is to turn on the ignition and press the fob button, if this isn't happening to you then it suggests that the fob is no longer communicating with the alarm - have you tried a new battery in the fob, that's the simplest "fault" to eliminate (or maybe if you take the battery out and put another in it's the same as the old "switch it off, then switch it on again" way of dealing with faulty electrical systems).

I've never had to use the keypad but I believe you simply type in the PIN - no need to do anythin with the ignition key except start the car once you've typed in the correct code.
