I am now thinking it is the power box that powers them up at the back of light:confused: as the side witch is sill working makes a noise when i switch them on ? and the side witch as stop working dose not ? and now the bottem fog light as stopped working  on that side

I have the same problem with my drivers side xenon headlight. On th odd occasion it fails to light up it will flash really quickly as if it is trying to ignite but nothing happens after that. I took it to the dealer and they checked all the cables and found that it may be a faulty ballast unit. Couldn't afford to folk out the £220 that they wanted to fit it for so i'm just putting up with it untill it goes completely.

If its not too badly damaged bob it back in and take it back to the dealer and just play dumb with them but stress the point it just suddenly stopped working.

They lie enough to us F it just do the same back to them and get it done under warranty.

Hi i am new on here but have a problem with my factory fitted xenons on my mk1 fabia vrs they have been fine for ages then one night got in and turned them on and both of them are on the floor? useless as you can hardly see where you are going even on full beam?

can any one help?!

regards,

Peter

Sounds like your ballast is playing up. It's the power pack which powers the bulbs.

That will explain the intermittent lighting. If it's the bulb, it simply won't work.

One thing that can affect ballast performance (besides it being faulty) is the condition of your car battery. If you're not experiencing any other electrical problems I'd rule it out though and go with the ballast.

You can buy second hand ones from eBay for cheap. But I'd recommend checking out companies like HIDs4U and rclick, as they offer good replacement kits that carry a warranty.

If you've in fact damaged a bulb during the process, I do have an OEM set spare. PM me if you're interested.

Sounds more like the levelling is dead to me. emoticon-0112-wondering.gif Based on LittleBulls post, seeings as the rest of the thread dates from 2008!

Not too sure though - a fault code scan might flag something up.

Levelling may still be OK, Sounds more like they've popped off the adjusters, Has anyone tried to adjust them recently?

To check the levelling, Drive your car up to a flat surface (Wall or garage door) Switch on the lights and watch the cut-off , If it moves up and down the levelling is OK.

There's not much movement, So don't expect your lights to dance up and down.

If the levelling is working I can take you through fixing the adjuster issue!

My bad, I was on my phone so didn't notice the dates of the original post!
