Question about Eibach Pro-kit springs?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I really have my eyes out for the eibach Pro spring-kit, but I am wondering about something I could'nt see on their page:

They state that the kit will provide a lower ride of 25 mm, but I cannot make out, if they mean compared to a standard Fabia or compared to a standard Fabia vRS.

I mean, if it is a 25 mm lowering compared to the standard Fabia RS, which is already 15 mm lower than the original Fabia, then it's great, since I'm looking for an overall lowering of 40 mm compared to the original Fabia.

I hope, I make sence  :D

Please advise :)

Mine (standard Furby) dropped around 40mm in total with the Eibach kit so I expect the 25mm is in addition to the 15mm drop the vRS is as standard?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. -But did you buy the Pro-kit for Fabia RS or did you buy for your specific model? -Because they are not same.

Any Fabia vRS owners out there, who can help please?

I got the TDI Eibach springs and dampers Pro-Kit as organised by Ninja_Alex in a group buy :) Faboka_vrs also got the same ones, so he'll be able to tell you how much they lowered his....

Chris

I was under the impression that both sets of springs give the same final ride height.

Your bang on about the vRS specific springs, they lower '25mm' due to the vRS being lower than the normal Fabia anyhow. I think the ride height on mine is just about perfect and even, as is Graeme's.

If your fitting Eibach springs to a vRS you should only fit the specific vRS springs.

Nope!

You can check out yourself here www.eibach.com

For standard Fabia TDI it's 30 mm and for vRS it's 25 mm, which led me to believe, that it's a total of 40 mm extra for the vRS compared to standard Furby.

Sorry I "bang on" about this, but it was the point of this thread you know!

So I guess your answer to my question is: Yes, it is a 25 mm lowering compared to a Fabia RS, and not a 25 mm lowering compared to the standard Fabia. -Thats really all I am asking.

Sorry there seems to be a missunderstanding here, I didnt mean you are banging on. By saying your 'bang on' means you are correct, like 'spot on' its an english phase so please except my apology it wasnt meant to offend.

I know the whole point of the thread being asked was to clear up about the springs. And like any other topic I try to help. If you looka t most questions there is usually a post from me where I try to help out.

Hi Ross,

Thanks for clearing up the misunderstanding on my behalf. I saw your phrase like this, when I read it: "You Bang on about....." -And not: "Your bang on..."

My appologies for misunderstanding, I guess I was just a little too fast when reading your comment.

It is also my impression that you give good advise in here (been doing a lot of reading in here lately), so again I'm sorry I misread your comment and thank you for answering my question  Super cool

BTW I just had a look at your Furby in the gallery, and you're right, it looks great.

Do you have the original dampers still, or did you switch, when you bought the Eibach Pro-kit for your Furby vRS?

I'm thinking about keeping the original dampers, that shouldn't be a problem, should it?

Ive got adjustable Koni dampers on mine with the vRS Eibach springs, dampers are actually for the Ibiza TDi Sport but seem just fine on a mid setting. Ive also got the Momo Strut brace from SEAT.

The standard vRS suspension now resides on Andy Ellis's 100 PD Fabia.

And no I cant see anything wrong with keeping the standard dampers, Graeme has that set up on his and hes most happy.

I do indeed have standard dampers on mine. The standard dampers are uprated over the standard Fabia and seem to be up to the job, unlike my old Fabia. No doubt the Koni/Eibach dampers would be even better, but I couldn't stretch my budget that far at the time.

I do have to admit though. It does look alot better lowered on 17's rather than 16's! :D

Thanks for all the good replies.

I have the same "budget" problem at the moment :D

-But thats because I want to many things at once:

I have ordered the strut brace, and I'm going to pick it up at my local Seat-pusher tomorrow.

I am also going to order a box-tuning (thats what we do here, hence no Skoda-dealer will keep the warranty valid if you remap, and the box can be removed just in case...) it will uprate to 160 BHP.

I also need to spend money on a new MAF, because power is lacking during acceleration, and I'm pretty sure it's the K&N filter there's to blame (Read faulty MAF) (yes I have read the threads here, but I still think it's the K&N, because the car have only done 5000 km with it, and 15000 km in total).

So you see, not a whole lot left to spend on the suspension at the moment, but the spring-kit is a must, since I'm currently riding with 40 mm lowering springs (noname) for a standard Fabia TDi.

Those springs are obviously not made for the front axel-presure on the vRS (960 kg), so the rest of the suspension is now starting to fail :(

When I bought mine (december 2003), there were no springs available for the Fabia vRS so....
