VRS Supension query - droplinks???

Featured Replies

I'm just looking into buying coilovers for my VRS.

First of all is it worth buying the cheapest set I can afford or should I spend about £500 and then save a bit more to get them fitted?

Do I need droplinks??? I have read through a few threads in the search that has mentioned them, and some with coilovers that havent mentioned them!

Anyone got any info?

Depends how low you go.

If you plan on winding the coilovers lower than 40mm I'd get the droplinks just in case.

sound! cheers for the info! Best to get a set then! :)

I have fitted a pair of Mondeo ones, they are any mk1 mondeo drop links. They came to about £20 delivered and are about 2-3" shorther. I have no problems running the car low now, where as on the std drop links the roll bar sat on the driveshaft

If dont get shortened drop links then i guess the driveshaft will catch??

It just depends what kit you get.

I dont run any different drop links and its fine.

Fitted a set of coilovers on a mates Ibiza and the driveshaft was catching.

Luckly he had bought some and he put them on and it was fine.

Some coilover kits will come with the droplinks, and some will not sell you the kit without them.

Hi

The AP coilovers are fantastic quality and very good prices

So may be worth going down that route , then you have some extra money for any other extra`s that you want ;)
