Taught myself how to reset service warning

Featured Replies

:D

Bit of fiddling in 17 / adaption and I noticed all the mileage / days counters to set off the various service lights. Managed to set the days one to not come on for "quite some time"

oh do tell us jason... its like telling a joke and not telling the punch line.

Well, you can just cycle through the groups in section 17 until you see the 3 or 4 in a row that bring up INSP, etc, based on mileage, days, etc. You can then just change the value for the one which has triggered the service light and hit "save". Job done!

Yep, I did this earlier in the year. Not sure if the Octy2 procedure will be different though?

You can also buy one of those cheap rubber stamp sets complete with ink pad and produce your own 'dealer' stamp to forge the Service Record each time you fiddle the service warning. HTH.

Recent versions of VCDS will do it automagically with the 'SRI Reset' application on many cars. :)
