seat stain

Featured Replies

well got of my lazy fat **** today and decided to clean the interior of my mk 1 octy vrs seats came up cracking after a bit of elbow grease but i got 3 stains on the passenger seat ( blood stains from the misses nose bleed) and for the life of me i cant get rid of them they have come up more prominent now they are clean.

anyone got any ideas how to remove them cause the seats have come up lovely now and it is just annoying me.

Hire/borrow a carpet cleaner or go buy a cheap vax with an upholstery attachment.

Get some Stain devil stain remover specifically designed for blood.

Use the stain devil to clean off the blood and then give the whole of the seat a clean with the Vax so you don't have any ultra clean bits along with the not quite so clean bits.

If you don't fancy that try making up a thin paste with some *biological* washing up powder and put it on the blood stains. Hopefully the enzymes should deal with the blood and then you just have to clean the seats off and dry them again.

cheers mate will have a go again at the weekend

Depends how old the stain is but you can try a bit of contact lens cleaner solution.

They are usually very dilute peroxide solutions (check the label).

Don't drench the seats but just trickle it on. If it's going to work, then it will start fizzing or bubbling straight away.

You can also use a very very weak solution of Soda Crystals for removing blood stains.

Something that works well at home on the Lad's football kit (He is a goal keeper and get's stuck in) is the Oxy stuff you can get in tesco's / asda etc etc, again, make it up into a weak solution, test on an area first, then spray a little on, agitate slightly with an old tooth brush and then ..... here's the trick "blot" the solution up with plain kitchen towel or a microfibre ........ don't rub it.

The Oxy stuff (comes in a lovely pink tub) worked wonders on my Rugby kit when I used to play, I always used to come back home with a small part of my anatomy hanging off and bleeding ..... but that was the sign of a good game :)

This is the stuff

VANISH Trust Pink, Forget Stains.

hope you get it sorted easily mate, some good advice above (have made notes myself)..

Btw- shouldn't you call it a Skoda stain as opposed to a SEAT stain?
