Thanks mate!....Always nice to hear.Really hope that someone have a solution of this problem:confused:

RPM signal would come from the crankshaft sensor, but on the Octavia II this is a hall effect on off signal rather than the old type inductive sensor so it would depend on what signal your shift light requires.

Tell me more if you can.....on the older vrs1 you connect the shiftlight sensor cable to - on the polar lights.....easy but on the can-bus system its pretty hard to know where I can pick up the signal. If I understand you right, you mean that you can pick up a signal and connect a sensor cable nearby the crankshaft but the signal turns on/off??

And I have talked to skoda dealers, carstyling company, engine tuning company....everyone have NO idea:confused::thumbdwn:

I'd just pick it up from CAN with one of these...

CAN Bus interface

67 Euro with signals for Handbrake, Reverse gear, Vehicle speed, Programming, CAN L, CAN H, Clutch, Side lights, Engine RPM, Battery negative, +12V battery, Ignition key.

Progamable through USB. Excellent value. I paid more than that for one that just gives speed pulse for my nav.
