Hi all, just wondering if any one could give me a few pointers on two little problems i have. recently bought a 2004 1.6 octy.(second hand) can anybody tell me how to turn of the service indcator/beeper. also the electric windows work ok on the door panel but do not close automaticly when i engage the remote central locking. any idea whats going on here. Thanks.

There is a simple procedure for resetting the service indicator, and you can find it by searching this board. I have done mine, but I can't remember off the top of my head how to do it.

Your electric windows (and sunroof if fitted) should all close when you hold the key turned in the lock position in the drivers door. They won't close simply by pressing the lock button on your remote unless that particular feature has been enabled. You can buy a tool to do this by flashing the body control module. It's the KVW100 Autowindow Module, and details of where to buy it and how to do it can be found at Vagproducts.

Is the car maybe due for a service?

it was serviced by non skoda dealer.

Well, I can't remember what it is, but resetting the SI just involves a few sequenced button presses.

Both are covered in the manual.

Press the trip counter button and hold it Turn on the ignition and then turn the button to the right turn off the ignition and this should be the light reset

I presume that if you reset it this way it will come on again in the set mileage?

Yes, the only way you can reset a car on variable servicing is via VAG-COM or by a dealer.
