...a similar thread to this but its over 20 pages long

I recently bought this

http://www.superskoda.com/octavia-ii...10-alternative

a friend of mine fitted it...now my question is, do I need to buy a special disc(s) to download to the system or the sd card?

While in sat-nav mode, only big roads seem to appear on screen or as I approach the city centre/which I'm only 5-10 mins away from.

Any help/advice greatly appreciated

Bump

Chances are, the maps only do main roads in Ireland. My Garmin is the same, major routes only in Ireland, then everything comes up when you corss the boarder into civilisation. ;)

:confused: 'Civilisation' must be therfore full of 'major routes'!;)

my old sat nav was the same Mick....half the towns weren't even marked on it, just about 20 "major roads" .... You should be able to buy a disc for it though, if you know who did the mapping - teleatlas etc...

Just checked with my Garmin - bought with UK and European maps. Zoomed in at random, found Kilkenny with full street mapping, so it must be out there somewhere!

I've the UK & Ireland 2008 maps on mine, and once you go over the border into S. Ireland you really are stuck with "N" roads and city streets. In N. Ireland I get everything right down to little lanes with grass up the middle.
