Bumper Grills

Featured Replies

Howdy all,

After fitting my cold Air Intake to the VRS all is working fine.

But I have noticed that the grill in the bumper on the passenger side is not open like the drivers side, which is a shame as thats where the cone filter sits.

So does anyone know where you can get an 'open' grill from, or is it a case that you just need to put on a grill on the side of the bumper to get a cold air feed?

Cheers

2 options that I know of. Milotec bumper grilles like the ones pictured or drill holes in the standard one, a few people have done this myself included before I got the milotecs

Cheers for the quick response - I was thinking of either drilling the grill, or putting on the RS4 bumper grill onto the side of the bumper, but seeing what other options were about first.....

I do like the look of those grills you have shown, but do they fit a standard bumper, as ours has a divider which I am pretty sure is attached to the actual bumper (although going from memory, so could be wrong  )

That bumper in the pic is the standard bumper with milotec goodies fitted. I have them and they are a straight swap although you have to glue in some plastic stoppers but that is a very easy job. Here are the instructions so you can see whats involved http://milotec.de/media/content/pdf/octavia/421xx%20-%20MA%204-sprachig.pdf?XTCsid=191b5f989bf47a29651584c067b2291f and I have included a better view of the mesh for you to give you an idea

ahh, so the dividers are part of the grill and not the bumper  I just didn't want to have to go back to the good old days of 'cutting, filling sanding painting' etc - will have a better look at these grills then......

I take it thats your octi in the picture. This is what they will look like on a silver Vrs. Forgive the bumper, it needs a respray badly

mmmm, not sure now, as they look quite see through, if you know what I mean......as had this problem on another car that I changed to a black wire grill - looked as if there was nothing there, just a hole  so changed it to a bullett style mesh, and sprayed it Anthracite - which worked well on that car......
