color of stereo cables

Featured Replies

ok...i had a page where it said which colors where what, for the mdf navi unit on 2003 superb elegace....but now i cant find it anymore (stupid me for not bookmarking).

just bought myself a brand new pioneer f900bt:), but i need to know what is what of the orginal cables in my car...bought som stupid iso aptapter, but i dont think it will work, so now im gonna cut the wires of my unit and of the orginal iso and simply splice them...

does anyone know where i can find theese color codes?

sorry for my lack of proper worduse...

Welcome to the forum :)

IIRC even on the MFD equipped cars the wires should be in the same place as the ISO block on your Pioneer, with the exception of the power.

In other words, the colours don't matter for anything exept the power.

Certainly this is true for my Classic, but I'm sure Baker et al can confirm this is the case for the MFD.

Good luck

Ah yes of course, I'd forgotten about those...

However the speed pulse sensor is something that requires installation... the only OE one will be from the gearbox to the ECU and won't make signals the Pioneer head unit will understand. Furthermore to get the steering wheel remotes to work you'll need some kind of interface.

As for amplifiers... I've never heard of a Superb with a factory fitted amplifier

well, the amp was there, under the rear panel shelf, it was a piece of crap, so i removed it, installed a new amp, new speaker cables and a subwoofer...and ofcourse the f900bt. works like a charm:)even the multifuctional steeringwheel...only thing im missing now, is the fis, though i doubt i will get it to work:/

Looks good

What's a "fis" by the way?

FIS, u know...the little screen between the speedometer and the rpm meter...it usally tells what radio canal ur listening to, or which direction to turn when using your navi...i though it was called FIS in english:O

did you have to splice all the cables in the end ?

I would be astonished if you got the FIS working

Ah, the Maxidot?

That won't work with aftermarket stereos - there are a few units which will work with a few cars although I don't think your unit will and I know your car won't - certainly to my knowledge.

Small price to pay for touch screen DVD and Bluetooth though, right? ;)

Maxidot, thats it:) its a small price to pay yes, and i wont bother even trying to get it to work.

bluesuperb: im not quite sure what you mean. the install itself was quite straight forward once u know which cable is what. i downloaded the complete wiring diagram from erwin.skoda.com i think it was....had to pay 14 euro but what the heck

it was also called DIS - "drivers information system" in other VAG cars !
