Paint chip karma?

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Got a tale of woe to reccount regarding my new Octavia....

Got the car second hand 2 weeks ago from my local dealer in Kent. I had the Supagard treatment applied to the car (I know, I know, I have read other forum members opinions of this. I must have been seduced by the salesmans winning smile...).

Anyway, on my first trip to work my lovely sparkling car was given the "good news" by a shower of stones thrown up by the wheels of a friendly foreign freight truck. It has left a handful of tiny chips that have seen fit to go all the way through the paint work . Aside from cursing the gods of fate I have been swearing even louder as I have realised that as well as having these chips repaired I will have to fork out again for Supagard on the affected areas!

Could any of you kind people recommend a decent paint repairer/body shop in Kent that will at least treat me gently before they abuse my already aching wallet? I welcome any advice/abuse any of you choose to direct my way.....

I used to sell Superguard or somthing very similar when i worked for Citroen. Great on interior, not needed on paintwork imho. Commision was good though so everyone took it :-s

Cant recomend a body shop but dont re-superguard. Buy a decent wax and apply 3 coats to the bonnet (or the whole car too). Happy days.

Regards.

Ta for the advice Jimb0.

Have a look at something called Dr Colourchip, Tom on here did a group buy a while back.

If you really want to redo the Superguard then buy a complete pack on E-Bay they usually sell for around £10.

Easy peesy to do yourself.
