i've dinted my dash! help req'd

Featured Replies

right, i know this sounds stupid but i have a niggling problem... my sat nav has dinted my dash!! the mounting for the sat nav has left a bit of an imprint on the rubbery matty part of my dash... (the stuff right under the windscreen)... my question is, is there anyway to get rid of the dint... the imprint is hardly noticeable, but its buggin me... its one of those things which you cant get out of your head, if you know what i mean.

A picture would help, but if it's only a slight mark, gentle heating with a hair dryer might fix it.

it worked... used the heat gun at work and it pulled out the dint!

Yeah, it should come out all of its own accord, TBH. I left dents in my wife's dash a few years ago when I left my toolbox sat on it while I was fixing the infamous 'creak'. A day with the car parked so the windscreen was in the sunshine sorted it, no trouble!

Great stuff, well done. Most formed plastic have 'memory' and will pop back into shape with gentle heating. Sun in summer, hair dryer in winter (or hair dryer all the time in Scotland)
