speedometer signal wire location

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Does anyone knows how to recognise the speedometer signal wire on my Fabia'03 petrol? I need to mount a wire of the Meta alarm system to enable the function of automatic comfort doors locking when the vehicle is on move.

Where should I look for it? What colour is the signal wire? any pics available? Thanks a lot

Hi,

I supply Rally Tripmeters which also require a pulse wire from the transmission and on most cars fitted with radios, which have the facility to increase the volume when the car speed increases.

Therefore if you remove the radio and test each wire (at walking speed only) going to the multiplug, you will find that one of them pulses, use this one.

On a 1.4 TDI fitted with ABS the wire is White/Purple.

Hope this helps.

DB.

Many Thanks for the info... My radio does not have the GALA function you are talking about, so the radio ISO connector could not be the source of this signal. My Fabia is 1.2 HTP (with ABS)... Is there anywhere else excluding the radio connector from where I can get the speedometer signal?

Thanks

S.

Hi,

According to the Haynes manual the Speedometer Sensor wire in the instrument cluster is Ws/Bl = White/Blue.
