they dont look as good and cost a bit more (the blades do), and i tryed the valeo one and not that impressed there on the way out after 5 months.

I just wanted to check they were the right parts, im fairly sure on the front just didnt know if you could do the back. But saw that on vag parts.

I agree the proper ones look much better than just the replacement blades on the existing arms. mk4 golf fronts should be fine, that is what I have on mine (from vagparts.com too). Dunno about the rears though.

whats wrong with them?

i have heard: 1) the passenger side does not sit flat on the screen at the edge, leaving a 2" gap which just smears dirt around AND 2) creates wind noise at speed. Do yours do this too?

i had bosch aerotwins on a 306 which did this gap thing. Can you bend your wipers flat so they do meet the screen? (Seeing as you are replacing them it cant hurt to try )

3) have they started streaking already, after just 5 months?

IMHO wipers should last ~12 months, any more or less is unrealistic/unreasonable.

well the drivers one smears at the top half, noise is fine and no problems with the passenger one, i have done a few miles but it was after 5000 that i started to notices the smears but it only when slightly wet when its rainng loads there fine no smears and better than normal wippers.

personally I wouldn't buy the aero wipers new, I bought a pair off a scrapyard from ebay delivered to my door for £30 theres nothing mechanical about them so why pay more than you need to on a bit of bent metal.

the aeros do look loads better than OEM

thank you. so you had no problems with the fit of the passenger side.

thats interesting because a lot of people say that there is a 2" gap by the tax disc holder because the screen is very curved at that point and so the wiper does not sit flat.

my 306 had that exact problem, and bending the wiper did not help.
