does the rain sensor overide the intermittant controls.

I put the controls on intermittant wipe - but nothing happened regardless of whether i set it to short or long intervals. Does it meed to be raining when the rain sensor is installed ?

That's correct.

There isn't really an intermittent setting - you get off , sensor controlled , slow and fast.

The little lever on the top of the stalk isn't a speed setting as it is on lower spec cars , but a sensitivity control for the sensor.

Most of the time mine's left on sensor controlled which won't do anything until the rain starts and it will then adjust the speed as needed from very occasional wipes up to flat out.
