Just ordered an Octavia with a "swing" radio. I saw on the accessories brochure that it is possible to connect an ipod via a"mdi" cable in the glove box as opposed to the aux jack in the centre armrest. There is no socket in the glove box though, just wondering has anyone encountered this? Is it possible to control ipod from this radio and steering wheel controls??

Dont you need the MDI interface option first? An extra option.

Yeah you need to order the mdi as an option but when i ordered the car the dealer did not know anything about it, hence car arrived with no mdi built in. the question is is it possible to retrofit this feature ie. original skoda mdi and not a dension unit??

Yes your dealer should be able to fit an MDI without any problem., although if the car is still on order and not built you might be able to add it as a factory build in.

If you have a hole already in the glove box, then the interface simply plugs in the back of the radio and should be doable yourself.

of course the interface just plugs in, question is where can i get said interface!!!! proper mdi and not dension gateway that is!!!
