Anyone know the specs for the 12 speaker stereo upgrade on the new Octy? My dealer isn't sure. I have read that it includes a digital signal processor for equalisation & time alignment, and amplifiers. Is this true? If so, how powerful are the amps, and where are the 12 speakers - i.e. does it include subs? Any info on this would be very useful!

I've ordered the Audience with the SoundSystem speaker pack so i'll just have to live with it when it arrives.

Exactly the same here but was told they were having problems with the Audience & 12 Speaker Pack, but have been resolved this week. My car was meant to be being built week 42 but has slipped to week 46 now :( but hopefully I should receive it first week in December, or by Chrimbo at the latest.

The dealer I asked didn't know and hadn't seen one.

Its a fair bit of cash they are expecting people to pay on blind faith that its an improvement

They amp power output doesn't need to match the speaker power output. Generally it's better to have an amp more powerful than the speakers are rated at...less likely to damage them...

The stereo upgrade and speaker upgrade are separate options and cost around 300 quid each.

For 600 quid you can buy some decent aftermarket kit which I'd expect to sound better but then you lose all the functionality that the screen on the standard stereo gives you

I would imagine it is 4 tweeters: Front Left, Front Right, Rear Left and Rear Right.

Yep, there are three speakers in each door the smallest being by the internal metal door opener.

Well impressed with the Audience Sound System & 12 Speakers, got a chance to give it a proper blast today on way to work. Volume Max's out at 45 but there is zero distortion.

Like the feature of being able to record Traffic Bulletins though. As we all no they come on just before the news or when you are listening to something particular. So having the feature of being able to play them back shortly afterwards is great.

I also went for the Multi-Function Steering Wheel so have all controls on the Wheel.

Only thing I would like to change is being able to have the MP3 Album/Track/Artist details on screen permanently during playback. As it gives a full screenfull of info great on a mix CD.

The Audience system has the 6 CD Stack built into the Dash and all 6 are MP3 Compatible so currently I have 84 CD's online as MP3's

Exactly what I thought and what the Dealer had told me, but on collecting the Car I asked about the 6 CD Stack was it MP3 Compatible. Dealer went to Boot and stated it didn't have one and must of been removed with the Audience System being added that has a single CD that's MP3 Compatible.

Anyway I can assure you that it has a 6 CD Stack in the Dash like the Passats have but it's MP3 Compatible, so I am well impressed having 84 CD's online in MP3 format

BTW it was news to the dealer as well.
