1.4 clasic stutter / coughs

Featured Replies

I'm having a problem where my wife's 1.4 clasic from 2000 stutter / coughs when it get near 3000 RPMs, and it is cold. The problem seem to disapear when it is warmed up.

Anyone that could give me a pointer to where I could look?

I'm used to "work" on cars (changed a couple of exhaust pipes, radiators, thermostats etc. in the past on my cars, but the Fabia is new to me and I haven't got the haynes manual for it yet), So I would like to have a look before I give up and go to the skoda dealer for help.. :)

/ Regards

Thomas

First step is to have the ECU read for fault codes. Sounds like MAF, but could be a stack of other things.

Clean the throttle body and replace the temperature sensor, after having looked to ensure that the thernostat hasn't broken first.
