Morning All.

De-Icing & De-misting my car on these frozen mornings is a right Pain in th A$$.

I noticed today that the Recirculate Air button Turns itself off after a while !! & won't always turn back on. If i Rotate the blower direction Dial, It will turn back on.

Also if it is on Recirc & i rotate the direction dial to the window screen it turns off the recirc..

Is this built in by design & the Recirc is intelligent, Re heater temps Etc ?

Or is mine just Fubared !!??

If it is, WHat is involved to change this unit ?

When you change it to Recirc you hear the Airflow increase/change, So the flaps are working ...

Recirc is made to switch off when on the screen because it's better to use outside air to demist the screen i believe..

Using warm moist air from inside the car causes the windows to steam up, you do need to draw in clean air from outside.

My car also turns off the recirc itself.

At this time of year I would love to be able to blast the windscreen with cold air and myself with warm air. And the pupil usually wants the A/C on full blast. :rkick:

Yes as already said this is a feature it will turn off if set to the screen, you can turn it one setting to the left and it will stay on in this position, really the air recirc is only good for keeping fumes out while stuck in traffic, fresh warmed air is much better for you as recycled air can make you drowsy on long journeys due to the increasing carbon dioxide if you turn it to the correct settings and it still turns off then there is a fault with the flap motors (mine was done under warrenty) and this costs about £200+ for skoda to do it.

I will check in other postions & see if it turns off again, Im sure it did !!!
