Smoked Headlights - vRS

Featured Replies

One for all the people that have smoked their headlights out there!

Just a couple of questions really.

1) Which spray paint did you use?

2) Did you just spray it straight on?

3) Where did you spray? The actual glass cover, or the unit around the bulbs?!

I am looking to do mine soon, but just want to know so I have a fair idea of where to spray etc...or will it become obvious when I have split the headlight apart?

I used halfors black stuff.

Just any paint will do really, doesnt need to be high temperature.

Sand down first before spraying.

Split the lights, its the insert you want to spray, held in by two Torx20 screws.

sweet, thank you :D

How long did you leave for drying? are the inserts obvious!?!

I know I am soundling like a complete doofus, but I don'treally wanna **** it all up!!

The hardest part is splitting the lights.

This is a bit of a lenghty process, i used a hair dryer, heating up the tacky sealer.

Yes, it is obvious.

I did mine quick before the sun went down, so i just quickly banged them back together.

yeah, i split the headlights on my previous cars to remove the orange indicator portion, so I know how tedious it can be to get it right!

Cheers for the help :D

oh, and is it the whole insert you sprayed?! as in completely covered it black.

any pics?! :D

To split them, put them in the oven at the lowest temperature for about 5 minutes
