whats the difference between the tiptronic auto n the petrol and the dsg auto on the diesal ?

Well, DSG is a twin clutch auto box, and I would say the tip auto is a standard torque convertor auto box but with the option to slip out of auto and move the lever/paddles up and down to change gear.

Do a Google search on DSG for info on how that works.

DSG does both..you can have it in automatic, or push the stick to the left, and it goes into 'tiptronic' manual..it's a fantastic bit of kit
