Has anyone fitted K&N 57-0570 induction kit to Mk2 RS ?

Featured Replies

I have been using K&N 33-2888 air filter for a while and thinking to replace it with the kit above.

I want to hear your sound and performance experiences about this kit.

Thanks for all your kind replies :)

Hi there,

I take it this is an open cone? Will sound great, but won't add any power and the oil could damage the MAF. You could buy a cheap Ebay cold air intake, and put the K&N on the end of that. Then you'd get colder air + the filter would be much further away from the MAF.

Personally, I'd always recommend a BMC CDA- always get a power increase with these. Gave my Corrado VR6 7bhp on it's own. It's now on the vRS.

Also Carbonio are very highly thought of on here.

Hi mate thanks for your reply

Here is the kit ...

I also took a look at BMC AIR FILTERS (the one you mentioned above) too...

I think the k&n and CDA are far away from MAF or am i wrong ?

If you suggest that the power gain will be much better with CDA i'll buy that if not order the k&n :)

Kind regards

Hi mate,

They're both pretty close to the MAF, but K&N are known to be quite heavily oiled from the factory. Also the open cone in the hot engine bay isn't a particularly good idea, even with the cold air feed. Sound awesome though!

BMC all the way!
