Picked up my new Fabia 1.4TDI 2 Estate on Saturday - Satin Grey - and so far I am over the moon. .

However the main reason for posting is a big thank you to all you posters out there that make this forum what it is - informative, interesting and very useful when making expensive choices.

Merry Xmas to you and you are spot on it is a great source of information and interest. You have to excuse one or two of them as they seem to have no life outside the Fabia, but still they are happy. My 1.4TDI is 16 months old with 6300miles but it states it does 57+mpg and that seems to be constant since new however I drive it. I feel sure that you could get 60mpg if you try hard enough. I note that MPG is not as good as I would have expected, however the car is new and the advice on this forum that 'things will only get better' has put my mind at rest.

Mr Newbie...I echo the welcome of my fellow Skoda colleagues. We look forward to you telling us how you are getting on with your new baby. You are right...the mpg's will sort themselves out. The engines are very tight when new. Good luck, enjoy the car and MERRY XMAS!

The MPG will improve once you get passed 1k-2k miles.
