losing power

Featured Replies

Our 130 tdi 03 plate is losing power, could this be the mas on the way out, or could it be a pipe thats come off

it was fully serviced last week and i have read on here that sometimes when the air filter is changed that they can deform and block the airflow

is there any pics of what to check before changing the mas

If it was fully serviced last week I would take it back as it seems to be doing it since from your description, and ask what they have removed / moved to carry out the service.

I'm suspecting a boost leak, or some pipe not put on properly as you both seem to be thinking.

Get on the blower!

(Ha ha see what I did there etc)

Car sorted:balloons:

There are some small hoses that go somewhere near the back of the engine left hand side as you stand at the front, and they had been rubbing, and they developed small holes, there was also some wires that had eaten away at there plastic coatings, exposing the inner cores just below the air box stripped back and soldered and re-taped up

This is a common problem apparently and it stops the turbo sensor working and give you the impression the MAS is not working along with the turbo
