No it is not.

The VAG filters are Cordierite extrusions with every other channel blocked at the end. They are oxidiation catalyst impregnated. As the pressure across the filter increases by soot accumulation, the engine fuel management system changes to increase the exhaust temperature to the point, where the soot burns and the combustion by-products can pass through the Cordierite. The combustion by-products are basically water vapour, CO2 and some NOx.

As above, the DPF as shown on U-Tube is not the same as the VAG.

This link explains how the VAG units work, it is very detailed, and also covers the older system that uses Adblue.
