Car cutting out.....

Featured Replies

Morning lovely people! :)

Finally got a chance to go and fill up the lil red Felicia - the guy I bought it from dropped it off to me on Christmas Eve with a glowing fuel light! :irked: First petrol station - was being refuelled. Car cut out twice and I was starting to panic.

Limped up to Asda - their fuel pumps weren't working  Car completely cut out! Fortunately I was in a parking bay but I was thinking please God, let this be because of the fuel and nothing else, please please please...

Lovely lady at Asda said if I was paying cash, they could put me through, so a quick jog up to the cash points, then back to the car. Stuttered up to the pumps, and for the grand total of £33.92 the tank was full

So now to find out whether it was lack of fuel or whether I had managed to buy a lemon with my last pennies... The drive home was amazing!!! :D:D I still need to get used to the clutch cos it is well high compared to my Rover, but I suddenly realised I was doing 32 mph with no effort at all.

So am I safe assuming that the reason the car was cutting out was that I was driving on fumes??

it comes with no warning on even surfaces, but uneven surfaces you get a jolt or two (but thats the carburetor model, different fuel rail and pump position)

Hiya - can you put that into non-car girlie speak please?!! :o So the shuddering was it's way of telling me that the fumes were running out? Ta

Yep. Sounds as if it was cutting out because of low fuel.
