Interior bulbs - swap to LED`s

Featured Replies

Why would you want more light on your number plate? I'd paint mine jet black if it was legal. :)

Want to change my interior light and have seen these on eBay and was wondering which W5W would fit my MK2 VRS Estate?

either

Item number 220309512341

or

Item number 220309538880

and are these festoons ok?

Item number 310124835993

Thanks

They would all fit, but are you sure you want blue?

The white gives off a bluish tint, which looks pretty cool, but Im not sure about bright blue, Personally think it wouldn't look as good... but its your car.

I have some of those 4 LED W5W's and because they are a bit fatter, they dont sit in the holders as good as, say a single LED.

However, they still seem to be OK in mine, but next time I will probably get singles.

Get some pics up when you have them fitted.

Cheers

Damian

they look really nice actually, expected them to look a bit chavy but they honestly dont :)

edit: infact when i get home, gunna check my interior lights are festoons like those and if so, im gunna get some ordered, think they'll go really well with the VW blue dials :D

Thanks, glad they don't look "chavy" i certainly wouldn't want to be thought like that other wise they'd have to come out.Must say the Mrs likes them as well and she wanted green ones for her passat.

This has reminded me to do a little light adjustment of my own; thanks guys

Think I'll go for white myself. I've already changed the map reading lights for BlueVision W5Ws which I like the look of. But will pick up some alternatives for the main festoon interior lights, plus perhaps glovebox and boot.

Would still like to know *exactly* what BMW and Lexus use for their numberplate lights though... :rubchin:

I'll have a look at our works BMW 320d's tomorrow if I get a chance and see if I can get a piccy or something.

That would be interesting to see, thanks

Just to see what the bulb arrangement is they're using in there; if it's actually an LED bulb of sorts and if there's anything special about the way they're powered/wired in.
