recall....

Featured Replies

got a letter through the post the other day about a recall on some fabia's because of an electronic problem with the throttle. anyone else had this letter as well? apprently it only takes about 5 mins to fix it if there is a problem.

Nothing listed on the VOSA website since July 07 and that wasn't throttle related - VOSA - Vehicle Recalls

I've seen mention that a few dealers are sending out notifications for non-safety related issues just because they are so quiet and it brings a bit of busness in - either because they get paid by Skoda UK for doing the work, or perhaps just to give them an opportunity to sell you other things.

letter says taht skoda have identified a potential problem with the electronic accelerator pedal in a small range of fabia's and roomsters.

will phone them up in new year and arrange to go get it checked-want to have another look at their borchure for something for my car anyway so gives me a reason to travel that far!!!

The throttle pedal position sensor on my Fabia II Estate failed after one week. There would be an audible warning followed by no power available from the engine until I turned it off and re-started it. Happened every 10 miles or so. The car was built in March 2008 and there were others with the same problem at the time. Dealer swapped the assembly for one from another car to get me going quickly.

I would have it done soonest if your car is one of the suspect ones. It could be very dangerous to lose all power whilst in the outside lane. :thumbdwn:

I think Andy is correct, the issue with the throttle pedal on the 5J chassis cars has been on the boil for a while.

Perhaps we need some sort of sticky regarding recalls for all the car forums?

Sounds like the same recall that is out on some of our latest 9N polos (between 2007 - 2008 model years) accelorator pedel part number needs to be checked and if incorrect replaced. Would guess the fabia uses same parts?

Perhaps we need some sort of sticky regarding recalls for all the car forums?

I've created a Sticky in this, and other current model forums. If you have the details on this one for the Fabia, please post them here - http://briskoda.net/fabia-ii/recall-notices/132912/

There is one in each model forum.

just got back from garage. had my car checked and it had the fault so i now have a new accelerator pedal and electronics to go with it!!

Good oh Miss Piggy! I believe the fault affected a small number of vehicles fitted with the Bosch 'fly by wire' accelerator pedal system. It suddenly loses it's memory and forgets what it's suppose to be doing...something my wife has accused me of for years! For goodness sake don't let her find out she can have a new one under warranty!!

lol!!! its brilliant now, its like having a new faster car again. seems taht because it was faulty, not all the power was being used/being able to be used. so now it goes alot better!!:P b/f even went for a spin in it and said its faster!!:P
