MAF Cleaning and possible problem !!

Featured Replies

Hi All

I took my MAF out today and decided to give it a clean and I noticed a possible issue.

The thermistor is missing or not fitted form the sensor as shown below on this image that I found which has one.

I'm not sure about this, it may be perfectly normal as the car seems to run fine. Can any body tell me if this normal the have it not fitted, the part number on the MAF is 00C 262 045 and is form a 53 plate Octy VRS.

Many thanks Chris

I think I found the answer.

The thermistor is not fitted in my MAF as this is used as the air intake temperature sensor, but this is fitted to the throttle body instead, I think.

I have just removed my MAF sensor for cleaning and have noticed my thermistor is missing too.

Is this normal or should I have a thermistor in place there?
