Speed limiters

Featured Replies

Anyone see the BBC report on fitting cars with an automatic speed limiter linked to a map of speed restrictions? The demonstrator car was A Fabia Mk.1 Elegance estate in dark blue.

Nice car - dumb idea.

... and before anyone else makes the remark - this wasn't a Limited Edition!

If we want to speed we should be aloud (Not that I speed mind ;)). Better if they fixed them to taxis tho.

Another stupid idea from the nanny state. It would make overtaking very unsafe, and encourage even less care and attention from drivers who are already pretty poor.

The best speed limiter is the drivers right foot in my honest opinion.

I'll second that although I quite like cruise control

It would make overtaking very dangerous and unlikely

Imagine the Motorways !! 3 Lanes full of 70 Mph Lane Hoggers :D

A continuous Rolling Road Block .....

& then all of a Sudden the Speed drops to 40 Mph through some roadworks & everyone Kisses the A$$ of the car infront

Not a good idea in my opinion ...

I'm sorry, but I'm sick of people 'pushing' me on NSL roads at 60mph - at least a speed limiter would sort that out. And they might then let us have accurate speedometers. Mine reads 70mph for a genuine 64mph. No wonder everyone speeds.
