What engines will fit into the fabia ?

Featured Replies

Right before anyone starts I have used the search but it didnt help much. I have got my damaged fabia to repair and I want to replace the 1.4 mpi engine with something a bit more nippy. I was thinking something along the lines of the 100bhp 1.4 then tuning it up a little or a 1.6 etc Does the 1.6 polo gti engine fit into the fabia ?

Can anyone else think of something similar, I dont wont to go up to 1.8 20v turbo though !

Thanks, any ideas welcome

you will need a good donor vehicle/engine , with a wiring loom

Pointless putting the 1.6 polo engine in with its chocolate gearbox...

So use the Fabia one.

Could use the 1.6 16v from the Golf/Leon etc.

1.8 20v turbo ftw:D

Depends what you want to do really mate.

You could fit a R1 engine with sequential shift, A V6, A Duratec.

Do you want to use original mounts?

Yeah I would like to use an engine with the same mounts and layout, I think my best bet will be to get a 1.4 16v sport out of a seat or skoda. As far as I know its just the engine, gearbox, ecu and a bit out of the loom that I will need. Can anyone confirm this ?

Chevy big block V8 ? With a blower ofcourse! And NOS. And while your at it, there's plenty of room for some turbos aswell :)

Just get the same engine out of a Fabia, then you can use all the correct factory wiring and brackets etc.
