Servicing (Landrover Freelander)

Featured Replies

Hi there.

As well as having the vRS I have a Freelander that I use for work as Im self employed (sort of, lol).

Bought it with 12k on it and a full LRSH. Since had it done at a local 4x4 specialist (primarily LR) at 24k for £250 which I found a little expensive to be honest. LR themselves would probably be double that though!!

Now, my vRS only cost £140 to service last month so £250 sounds even more expensive now!

There are quite a few filters to change on the TD4 (Oil, Fuel, Air, Pollen, Crankcase Breather, EGR Filter) and the engine cover needs removed (10-15 mins) for the air and crankcase breather. Other than thatm the service looks quite un-specialised according to Haynes manual so cant quite see how £250 is justified.

So, Im gonna get quotes from a couple of local non specialist garages, what are peoples thoughts on this?

Steve
