Eibach Springs, any problems?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

Just about have Eibach Pro Springs Kit fitted on my Fabia VRS. Just wondering if anybody know of any problems while fitting these so I can let me mate know. Just to save time, as we've had to book it into his old college. I know the rear springs will be pretty easy to change, but the fronts will be a bit more difficult

Also while i'm here, are there any problems with knocking noises, with these fitted?

Any comments while be much appreciated.

Thanks

Jon

Only problem i've ever came across was the driver side is a little harder to get the strut out of the hub due to the driveshaft.

But the guy doing mine just undone the ball joint, and that was enough to give it room.

The rest were fine.

i think ive read that you should shorten the bump stops when fitting these

Yes I read that somewhere, think it was VRStu's website. Surely you can buy new shorter ones from Powerflex?

I'm thinking about getting some Eibachs too, it would be nice to fit new bumpstops aswell rather than just trimming the old ones...

Drop links some times break when your taking the strut out.

Best get 2 new ones and replce them as part of the job as they don't cost a lot

The trimmed bump stops are just as good as anything else and compared to the cost of the powerflex ones....

Any idea how much the Powerflex ones are?... :)

my bump stops are standard length , and i have no problems with them , Eibach springs with standard shocks

to make life easier when doing the front springs , a VW tool is available to open the hub where it clamps the shocker , also compressing the springs slightly with the correct compressor whilst still fitted to the car will aid easier removal of the shocker assembly

No idea on actual cost but I seem to remember when I looked at it they were twice the price of the OEM's
