Best Place to purchase Lower Dogbone Mount from ??

Featured Replies

Hi.

Where would be the best place to purchase the lower rear engine/gearbox (Dogbone) mounting bracket from ?.

Is it best to stick with the standard type or go for the Cupra one as per some on here & live with the extra Vibes that some seem to get !!??

Does anyone have any part numbers for the Cupra one Etc ?.

many thanks

Dean

For a 53 Plate Fabia Vrs  Almost forgot that Bit !

Go to the jabba site , they have a uprated dogbone mount on there

dont know why people go for these uprated items, mines a 53 plate and ive got no movement in the gear stick at all when letting off the clutch etc

mine either!

stick to standard , unless you like excess vibrations through the whole car

although i think Jabba now do their uprated one with a bush with holes drilled in it

thats not really the reason? it holds the engine in place firmer to stop the engine rocking so much through gear changes/acceleration. It should in theory help a little with performance.

I think a lot of people go for an uprated one because the stock ones are a little weak. I know mine was and was making clunking noises changing up. Changed it for another stock one as i don't fancy the vibes

pffffffffftttt

drilling holes - nonsense... im running the jabba full stiffness one... love it kinda drones out the chatter from the SMF :)

OP you have PM ;)

to be honest i dont even notice it anymore :rofl:

Thing that I think about is what damage all the extra vibrations can cause over time. An example is the Clio 172/182. Their engine mounts suffer from the power. Peope have tried uprated mounts but this causes problems elsewhere.

I think you're getting confused... this is a post about the dogbone mount, NOT the cupra console bushes...

I don't think you can fit or would benefit from using the dogbone mount from a cupra? I think you mean more the jabba sport custom one. I could be wrong.

The part number above is definitely not for a dogbone mount though

If only dogbone mounts were £7 lol looking at more like 70 for a standard and 90+ for uprated iirc

Hi,

The dog bone mount on your Fabia is exactly the same as the one on a Cupra, We can offer 2 differnt types now, the full on Vibra-technics one which comes out at £135.70 this can be found here; Vibra-Technics Torque Link (Dog Bone)

Or we do just a replacement polybush to fit into the original dogbone mount, these come to £65inc vat.

Hope this helps

Luke

Thats because its a cable change selector, not the old type rod change or streight off of the gearbox ;)

The dog bone mount is to control the movement of the engine which can cause problems if it gets too much!
