bl**dy tyres

Featured Replies

In the summer I spent several weeks gradually refurbishing my spiders and changing the colour from gloss black (with loads of stone chips) to gunmetal.

The tyres are currently 205/50 ZR17s and the frots are running abit low, so I thought "I'll swap fronts to backs, then change all four for 225/45s in one go"

The wife took the car out this morning only to come back inside after reversing off the drive "the back tyre's flat"

It was only when I took the spare out that I realised I hadn't refurbed it with the others. D'Oh!

- and now I've got a big screw right on the outer edge of the tread of one of my back tyres!:(

And I froze my a**e off because I still had my pyjamas & slippers on...

Just changed all four to 225/45 this week. The roads are way to icy and I'm running brand new, not worn in, summer tyres. That said, there's no appreciable difference in comfort, or appearance. Handling will need some warmer roads and a bit of run in to determine.

They were a lot cheaper than 50s though ;)

Em, because putting wider tyres on the front axle than on the rear of any car is illegal.

Of course, you could put 225s on the back whilst wearing out the 205s.
