N95 battery

Featured Replies

had to get a new battery for the N95 , i hardly use the phone for calls , so usually the battery can last upto a week , well it all of a sudden came down to about 2.5 days

seems very odd to have just died like that , i will see how i get on with the new battery

You running the latest firmware Ric? I've had a few issues of wierdness with my 95's battery in the time I've had it.

Have often put it down to it needing 'conditioning', i.e. reconfiguring for charging. So gave it a few charges from just around 50% back upto full capacity. The newer Li-Ion batteries don't usually like a full discharge, so I'd avoid that.

Might be worth a go....

yep , got the latest software Steve ,

i usually put it on charge when down to 1 bar showing , it just seems to have dropped off completely in the last week

OK - I'd charge from 50% a few times, see if that makes any difference.

Steve

It happens.

Batteries also only have a 6 month warranty as well.

You might also want to see what you are running in the background :)

Oh.... It must be one of those apps that my son has loaded for me then :)

My N95 goes from half full to empty in about 2 hours. but i do have a couple of apps running in the background, so its to be expected. Mine has never gone more than 2 days before its needed a charge.

There's either something wrong with the phone, or the battery! What programs and software revision are you running?

Steve

Its on F/W V 30.0.018

I have the step counter application running in the background, and Phone gaurd.

Sounds similar erformance to mine with no background apps!

tbh, I've never tweaked it for better performance, maybe I should.

Sounds about right ......Well maybe 4 hours for mine, nothing running in the background.

WLAN scanning and BT off?

What apps have you got, as some can run and not show when you hold that button ;)

Sounds like the battery temperature thermistor is out of calibration to me.

Did you fit a genuine battery?

if you are asking me , it was a genuine battery , one bar gone today

Yes, thing is it will either just die on you or start crashing. You may get luck and have discovered the worlds best battery

To get the meter working properly you may need a software upgrade (A proper one not the NSU one) which includes the process of calibrating the battery indicator and energy management.

went from one bar off max to just one bar remaining overnight  that was Tuesday morning , had to use a slow charger at work

Decron , where do i get this battery meter software from ?

You don 't. The energy management calibration is part of a software upgrade these days. if your handset is failing the upgrade you may need to go to a service centre to get it done (They use different kit and run a set voltage into the handset)
