Featured Replies

hi im new to this and need help

ive got an octavia 1.9 tdi 90 hp with 264000 miles 2003 reg and having probs with the damm thing

you drive it and park it up overnight come to in the morning starts after warming the plugs up dirve for a bit 2-3 hrs stop it to fuel up come to start it flat as a fart and everything resets thats how flat it gets

Jump her off she starts ok then you could stop and start her a few times though the day and its ok again then all of a sudden its flat again

help please i really stumped on this one :confuse:

Every chance it's not this, but it's quick and costs nothing to check: make sure the connections on the battery terminals are tight. Not just the cinch nuts, but also see if you can wiggle the connectors about. The design of the cinches on the connectors means that the nuts can be tight even if the connector itself isn't...

tried them there tight you can pick the batterry up with them thats how tight they are i must say since then the glow plug flashes but he brake lights still work and the engine still slows down too im really stumped on this

What is the battery voltage when it is 'flat'?

My guess would be zero, as there is an intermittant bad connection in the battery itself. Maybe it goes open circuit when it gets warm.

Say it takes you 5 minutes to fuel up. If the battery was really going flat in this time you would see some sign (like fire or blown fuses).
